Business ambassadors mooted by PHD Chamber
In a bid to minimise the fall-out of the India's nuclear tests and the subsequent imposition of sanctions, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has mooted despatching ''roving business ambassadors'' abroad. These envoys will re-assure the international business community that India would continue with its ongoing reform programme and welcomes foreign direct investment within its overall economic policy. In a communication to the Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, the PHDCCI President, OP Vaish has suggested that the government may consider identifying presidents of the prominent chambers of commerce and senior businessmen to undertake such special visits abroad.
