Oil and Gas contracts may be privatised
In a follow up to the new exploration licensing policy announced in the last budget, oil and gas exploration contracts are expected to be privatised in the forthcoming Budget. The changes are being made in the light of mounting criticism from inside and outside the parliament. The existing policy has led to a two year delay of 12 joint venture exploration projects. Recently the ministry had signed product sharing contracts for 18 exploration blocks.
