Hegde plans for 20 per cent export growth
The Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde has formulated a four point plan to spur a 20 per
cent growth in exports. Hegde said the export basket would be widened and focussed on
certain identified growth sectors. Creation of a data base of importers and exporters for
periodic updating of data and emphasis on regular feed back to the chambers of commerce in
India to enable smoother transactions would be another area of emphasis he said. To
promote freer access steps to remove visa restrictions to Indian importers and
professionals are to be taken. |
